President-elect Biden commits to taking Amtrak to inauguration
President-elect Joe Biden has committed to traveling by Amtrak train into Washington on the day before he is set to be inaugurated as President of the United States. The 90-minute trip will begin in Biden’s hometown of Wilmington, Del., and end in our nation’s capital.
Frequently called “Amtrak Joe,” Biden is known for having taken Amtrak from his home to Washington during his time as a U.S. senator. The train trip is part of the festivities leading up to the inauguration. The traditional parade will be replaced by a virtual event due to the pandemic.
