About Our Union

Our History

We are SMART-TD General Committee 009, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. We are a broad-based, transportation labor union representing 2,500 and counting active members.

General Committee of Adjustment GO-009 of the former United Transportation Union (UTU), represents Conductors, Brakemen, and Yardmen on the former Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company, now the BNSF Railway.

GO-009’s jurisdiction; starts in the east at Chicago, IL (Corwith Yard) and extends as far west as Provo, UT.

The General Committee office is charged with handling grievances, agreement enforcement and construction of new agreements.  These issues are progressed to our office via our Local Chairmen, who are on the front lines every day; working hard for the membership.
